Halifax Digital Festival is taking place on 21st-23rd May at The Crossley Gallery, Dean Clough Mills. The festival – open to all – promises “an extravaganza dedicated to embracing the convergence of technology and community spirit”.

With a mission to reshape the digital landscape throughout Calderdale, the organisers are highlighting how we can use technology to support and grow businesses in the wider community, creating jobs and enhancing work for a better future.

The agenda boasts three days of packed sessions, focusing on digital skills, GenAI and data, and customer centricity. Kicking off the festival, delegates will hear from AND Digital’s Halifax Club Executive, Jim Moran, as well as West Yorkshire Mayor, Tracy Brabin. The first day will challenge perceptions about digital skills, what they are and who can have them, explain how to conduct self-led learning, and share where the current opportunities are, exploring the digital jobs and careers that are available.

Examining hot topic data and generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) on day two, delegates will discover how AI will shape the future landscape and transform jobs. Sessions will uncover how AI is being used in education, addressing if it is indeed ‘coming for our jobs’ and exploring a variety of use cases.

Finally, day three will explore customer centricity and the value the practice can have on both public and private sector businesses. Hearing from the Department for Education, delegates will learn how the government uses digital services to drive meaningful change. There will also be talks from Lloyds Banking Group, XCD Partners, and us!

Our strategy director, Alexis Bradbury, will facilitate discussions as part of Breakout Session Two, helping delegates understand how to keep customers at the heart of their business whilst scaling to global heights. Joined by Michelle Cooper and Jessica McNally of the Department for Business and Trade, visitors will discover how to best use their budget to promote their products and services whilst keeping their customers close, when selling in new overseas markets.

We can’t wait to engage with individuals and business owners who are keen to learn how we can leverage technology and digital skills to improve productivity, enhance processes and fuel economy growth.
