WOVEN is a Kirklees Council initiative to celebrate the textile scene around Kirklees. It has been created in partnership and collaboration with cultural organisations, artists, education settings, businesses, industry and heritage sites across the district.
We were asked to develop a brand surrounding the event and develop a website for people to find and discuss upcoming events.

To advertise the event, which ran over a week in June 2019, outdoor banners, flags and social media devices were designed as well as the creation of a website.
These provided information on the Woven background; details of the upcoming events and encouraged people to get involved in the festival.
For practicality and to add individual personality to the programme, the posters included blank space that allowed each event to write on their details. Printed leaflets also featured a map, highlighting the different areas throughout Kirkless that were hosting events.
Woven was a triumph, with people of all ages getting involved in workshops, showcases, talks and walks. They will be back again in 2021 to spread more joy and even more yarn bombing!
