Welcome to our latest instalment of ‘getting to know the team’. As we hope you know by now, our team is the most important aspect of Browndog, bringing together over 100 years of combined experience, each with their own skills and expertise (and quirks).
We like to occasionally take a break from providing you with our best insights, tips, and case studies to share some studio news. This month, we’re telling you all about Eleanor Firth. What you won’t find in her answers is that we think of her as the ‘backbone’ of Browndog. She makes sure that all of your projects run on time, on budget, and on plan so that you have a great experience with us. We can’t thank her enough for her dedication to the team and each of our clients. She’s also got some excellent quiz knowledge, so we think of her as a real asset! Now, over to El for the blog…
Who are you and what’s your role?
Hi, my name is Eleanor (you may hear me referred to as El) and I’m a Project Manager.
Tell us some background…
I started off working for Browndog as a Level 4 Digital Marketing Apprentice in 2017. Since then I’ve developed my skills across the board including Email Marketing, Website Design & Build, Google Analytics, Project Management and some basic knowledge of Paid Search and SEO that helps me in my day to day role.
What kind of projects do you enjoy working on?
My role is extremely varied and I work on many projects at one time doing various jobs. Website projects are very enjoyable, especially as we get to see a website that is often not fit for purpose be turned into a modern, dynamic and informative marketing tool. I often start off a website project with client kick off meetings, ensuring we know the business objectives and we are all on the same page. I’ll then work with Alex, our content specialist to refine or create a new sitemap, which I will work with to create wireframes for the key pages.
Following this, I’ll work with our design team to ensure we are keeping to the brief and nothing slips through the cracks. This then gets passed to our developers, where again I work closely with the team to ensure everything goes smoothly. I also sometimes help to create pages and input content. After the go live of a website, I set up Google Analytics tracking, Search Console and Google Tag Manager. We often work with clients on their ongoing marketing strategy to ensure their business goals can be achieved.
What projects have you worked on this year?
I’ve had some involvement in almost every website we’ve worked on this year, all from different industries and size of business. Some of the most interesting this year have been:
- BlueSky – We designed and built their new website, which went live at the beginning of the year and it’s been great seeing it grow and create successful leads and conversions. We continue to work with them on email marketing, social media advertising, Google Ads and more!
- GA4 – despite many issues with the roll out of GA4 I have enjoyed learning a new platform and developing my skills in this area.
- Calderdale College – I continue to work on various projects with Calderdale College who bring a refreshing perspective with their younger target audience. They are a change from our usual B2B clients.
Where in the world would you like to visit?
I love to go on cruises as it enables me to see various countries and cities in one trip! I’d really like to go on a cruise to the east coast of Canada and North America. The west coast of the USA is also on my bucket list, I might as well tie in Hawaii and the west coast of Canada whilst I’m at it. I’ve also never been to Asia… I could go on and on…
What unpopular opinion do you have?
Nando’s is overrated.
What are you loving at the moment?
I’m loving summer – the lighter evenings, it’s cricket season, warmer weather – my favourite time of year.
How do you spend your free time?
I play both football and cricket, I’ve also just joined the gym.
What’s a life goal of yours?
To travel to as many places as possible.
Are you an early bird or a night owl?
I’m not really either but if I had to choose – an early bird, I like a relatively early night and then I can get up early(ish) and make the most of the day!
